Poppy fields are a symbol from WW1. Battlefields were left ravaged, the soil corroding under a burden of remembered violence and suffering. Time passed, blood turning to rust. Poppy fields began to emerge, little red sentries marking the cites of suffering, of victory and defeat. What was once riven has given passage to tremulous beauty. Remembrance.
